What to do if your usual self-care regimen just isn't cutting it

2021 has brought a lot of hope and exclamation mark-worthy events, but it's also continued to bring a lot of pain and suffering. The attack on our capitol. Record-breaking deaths due to COVID. A disjointed vaccine rollout. A lackluster response to an impending 2nd impeachment.

It's not just the big events.

It's the everyday wear and tear on your well-being. Not being able to hug your family. Not being able to travel. Not being able to celebrate birthdays and other holidays for almost a full year.

If you've been suffering to get through the day, feeling more irritable and jaded, and tired of waiting for this d@mn pandemic to end, please know that you aren't alone.

If you've been trying your usual wellness routine (running, therapy, Netflix, meditation, wine), and it just isn't helping like it usually does, please know that you aren't alone.

I don't know about you, but I've been better.

I am a meditation teacher and a tapping practitioner, but I'm also human! My usual self-care tools just *aren't* cutting it like they used to.

How have I been responding?

Well, honestly, I've let myself feel all the feelings. I've also eaten more desserts and junk food than I should. I've let my exercise routine falter a bit.

I've also taken steps to get myself feeling better emotionally and physically. I'm doing extra tapping sessions with my tapping coach. I'm taking more hot baths. I'm reaching out to friends and family and allowing myself to be vulnerable. I'm working with other types of healers to get myself re-set.

This time reminds me a lot of what I was going through back at the end of 2017, when it felt like my whole world was imploding. I spent a lot of time watching Netflix and eating cookies in bed, afraid to share how I was feeling with anyone because I was a meditation teacher and thought I was somehow supposed to have it all figured out.

That's when I found tapping.

In just one session with my soon-to-be tapping coach, I felt like myself for the first time in months. It was amazing. In all that darkness, I found an amazing new tool that helped get me back to feeling human again.

You may know that I have since become a tapping practitioner, and that I help my clients make huge life shifts and heal from trauma just like I did back in 2017.

But, let's be honest here: exactly what is tapping?

It's an incredible healing technique that uses some of the same energy centers (also called meridians) that are used in acupuncture, but instead of using needles, we tap on different points on our face and chest! It's used in different ways than acupuncture, but it causes really profound shifts in the way our brains process stress.

I've been using it SO MUCH to help people during COVID, and it's mind-blowing how much it has helped people in a very short time. Check out this short video to learn more.
This is the first in a series of videos I published to my YouTube Channel.

Taking on a new self-care tool might be exactly what you need right now, but it's not always easy to know where to start.

I want to be your life-raft in this intense time, and I want to make it easy for you to benefit from this incredible technique.
