The Scariest Thing I Almost Didn't Do

Do you feel overwhelmed by increasing levels of racial tension and anti-immigrant sentiment in our country?

Do you feel discouraged by a sense that our country is more divided than united?

Are you frustrated because you want to do something about it, but don’t know were to start?

That’s how I felt back in 2016, and that feeling, plus my friend’s comment about my privileged blog post that I mentioned in my last blog post, got me started on a journey of self-exploration and accountability for my role in our racist society.

I signed up for a retreat for white people to learn about anti-racism.

I initially was excited, but as the retreat approached, I got scared. I didn’t want to go.

What would the people be like? Would they expect me to be an activist afterwards? Would I actually need to take real action? I liked feeling good about myself and what a good liberal I was! I didn’t want to face reality about race.

I ended up going, and it was life-changing. I’ve written about it here on my blog in the past. At the retreat, as part of our final project, I realized how I could use my expertise in meditation and tapping to fight racism.

We’ve already talked about the difficult emotions that come up around racism, and how it can paralyze a lot of well-intending people from learning more and taking action.

I’ve developed some practical tools that will help you overcome these challenges.

I’m so excited to share these tools with you in the course “Conscious Anti-Racism: Tools for Self-Discovery, Accountability, and Meaningful Change.”

They’re the same tools I’ve used in my own journey, so I know how effective they are. They didn’t only help me…

“I struggled alone with the emotions, conflict and discomfort that comes with learning that which we were not taught growing up. Access to a resource such as this to help deal with those issues would have been a great help.” G Schisla

“I feel the real life examples will make this relatable and relevant to everyone. This type of work is long overdue.” Dr K. Arnold

“Jill has developed a groundbreaking journey of self-discovery that confronts the deep seated beliefs and behaviors that lead to social and racial inequality. Her expertise in meditation and tapping is uniquely merged with anti-racism work to help participants change the way they interact with the world around them and prepare them to make profound changes in their consciousness and communities.” Dr. N Peoples

In the course, you’ll become emotionally equipped to acknowledge what you can do to change the world around you. You’ll learn to not feel intimidated by the strong feelings that arise from the type of ‘deep work’ that leads to transformational change, and you’ll empower yourself to speak up confidently against racism and confront biases and privilege.

In addition, to expand the impact of the course, I’m donating 20% of proceeds to anti-racism organizations.

I invite you to take a moment to learn more about this course, and if you feel it would be of interest to people in your network, please share this information with them. I’ve collaborated with Dr. Anne Kennard and Janet Raftis, each expert healers, to make this course an incredible learning experience and journey.

You can also join my Conscious Anti-Racism Facebook group, a forum where you can interact with like-minded people who are interested in fighting racism and making the world a more just place.
